The Register The Register is published by the Suffolk County Historical Society. It is a free publication for society members, and it is available by subscription only to libraries and institutions. Both amateur and professional historians and genealogists have prepared the articles that appear in the Register. The timely publication depends upon the participation of our readership, and the historical society reserves the right to accept and decline submissions. The society welcomes the submission of articles for publication in the Register. The articles should be about some aspect of Suffolk County history, the genealogy of Long Island families, or general information on genealogical research. Bible records, records of small cemeteries, and other records of interest to genealogists and historians, which have not appeared in major publications, are greatly appreciated. Society members are entitled to have three queries published in each issue. There is a $2 per query fee for non-members. Please limit each query to three typewritten lines, unless you are submitting only one or two queries, in which case they can be a little longer. Additional queries will be published for a fee of $1.00 each. If your queries are submitted to the society with other business, please send the queries on a separate sheet of paper. Please include your name, address, and membership number. All communications, contributions of material for publication, and queries should be directed to the Editor, Diane Perry, at the society's address: AN EXCERPT FROM THE REGISTER
